Saint Jude – Sweet Melody

I was lucky enough to get a ticket to see Saint Jude at the Half Moon in Putney on the 22nd February, and I was blown away. Their music combines blues, soul and rock & roll and they’re absolutely fantastic. From the start they came out hard and fast with lead singer and front woman Lynne Jackaman holding the entire audience in the palm of her hand.

Their entire set was fantastic and this track really stood out for me with a chorus gave me goosebumps. Bluesman Marcus Bonfanti joined them at this gig on guitar but he plays a mean harmonica on this track. Jackaman on vocals his absolutely divine and the band are as tight as a new drum. Great blues riffs, amazing keys and a solid rhythm section. What more do you want? You can watch the video of the performance here:

They’re going to be big this year, but don’t go and see them because of that. Go and see them because they make music that they love, the fact they give their all and more at every show and that the music is absolutely fantastic. Their influences include The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, The Black Crowes, Big Brother and the Holding Company and The Band. These guys are just as good, you won’t be disappointed.
